Choosing joy through times of uncertainty and fear

Choosing joy in the midst of a pandemic may seem like a daunting task. The gravity of this situation seems to be weighing down on us a little more each day. Each new morning brings with it new negativity or fears. The world appears as if it is heading in a downward spiral.

But I have good news to share friends – God didn’t give us a spirit of anxiety and worry.

2 Timothy 1:7 NKJV reads “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”

No matter how big the storm we are facing may seem, remember, our savior walks on water. He can calm the storm. Yes, we are living in uncertain times. But I cannot help to feel a sense of joy through all of this knowing that Jesus is still on the throne and that HE is in complete control. If a tiny virus has this much power, just think how much strength having faith the size of a mustard seed can bring to you. Do not be crushed in spirit during these uncertain times, as Jesus is certainly watching over His children.

So while the rest of the world is in utter chaos, scrambling with anxiety, worry and fear, you can rest assured in knowing that He is present. And while the world may seem to be growing a little darker, let us not be blind to the light. The Lion of the tribe of Judah is on the move.

Praise Him, even in the storm.
